Winter Vacation Rentals – Follow the Sun to Spain’s Costa del Sol!

Winter vacation rentals are popular on the Costa del Sol in Spain as it can be reached from the UK in less than three hours. The Costa del Sol is a region in the south of Spain in the autonomous community of Andalusia and some of the well-known resorts where people rent winter sun accommodation are Malaga, Fuengirola and Torremolinas. On this coast in the winter season, you can expect average daytime temperatures of about 16ºC. There can be some rainy days during the winter months the timing of which can vary from year to year. However the Costa del Sol is considered by many to have an ideal winter climate for playing golf and Spanish apartment rentals for a golf getaway are always popular.

Malaga is often referred to as the capital city of the ‘Sun Coast’ and it benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate which has helped make it one of Europe’s favourite winter holiday rental destinations. In October and November it is still very warm and this is a great time to book winter vacation rentals to avoid the crowds. Do note, though that the weather can be quite wet in November. The average high temperature is 23°C in October with an average low temperature of 14°C and in November the average high temperature is 19°C while the average low temperature is 11°C. This means that until late November you can still take advantage of the beach during the day, but at night you will need an extra layer. The sea usually remains warm enough for swimming till the end of the season making it an ideal place to rent your winter sun accommodation.

Another great place to book winter vacation rentals, especially Spanish apartment rentals is Fuengirola which can be found just 20km from Malaga airport half-way between Malaga city and Marbella. This resort caters for all age-groups but it is probably most popular with families and older couples rather than the younger tourists. Fuengirola is an especially popular place to book winter sun accommodation for golfers as it is ideally placed for access to a wide selection of fantastic Golf Courses. Nightlife is good here and if you book self-catering winter sun apartment rentals you will find that there is no shortage of bars and restaurants to suit every taste.

The famous resort of Torremolinos benefits from all-year-round warm weather and a favourable micro-climate, which has made it a major holiday destination for summer and winter vacation rentals. Torremolinos experiences over 325 days of sunny weather each year and has hot summers, mild winters and relatively low rainfall. In the autumn, temperatures dip slightly to around 23ºC and the nights are chillier. Many people from the UK and northern Europe book Spanish apartment rentals in Torremolinos during the winter months, to take advantage of the clear sunny skies and pleasant climate. Torremolinos has 10km of wide, sandy beaches where you can take part in many watersports. If you have booked self-catering winter vacation rentals and you want to eat-out you will find plenty of bars and restaurants. If you visit Torremolinos at the end of September you can take part in the town's biggest fiesta of the year - the feast of Patron Saint San Miguel.

So, if you fancy jetting off for a winter vacation why not follow the sun and book your winter vacation rentals direct with the property owners on the fabulous Costa del Sol!
