Holiday rentals in Ibiza Town are always popular with tourists from Great Britain and Germany who are looking for holiday fun in the sun. Ibiza Town (Eivissa)is the capital of the island and is only 7km from the airport. The historic old town is a haven of culture and tradition and the pretty port area is always bustling with colour and activity. Many people choose an apartment holiday rent Spanish or self catering villas in Ibiza Town to take advantage of the many facilities which are available for tourists.

WEATHER

Ibiza enjoys Mediterranean weather with mild winters and hot summers. If you want to rent apartments in Spain and choose your holiday rentals in Ibiza Town, you will find that the summer season really begins in May. Between the months of June and September there is very little rainfall and in August and September the temperatures can be over 30ºC. Water temperatures are a very pleasant 25ºC - 27ºC which are ideal for watersports and messing about on  the water’s edge. There are fewer sunny days in November, December and January, although the island is still an attractive destination at this time of the year with mild weather on most days.

EATING OUT

If you are staying in self catering villas Ibiza or self catering holiday rentals in Ibiza Town you will probably want to eat out some of the time. You will discover that Ibiza Town has three distinct areas where you can eat out, each with their own qualities: You will find most of the restaurants in D’alt Vila (the old walled town) which is set high above the town. The old fishermen's quarter - Sa Penya - has narrow cobbled streets packed with great restaurants and bars and the Port area which runs alongside the water’s edge has stylish restaurants, including traditional eateries and some upmarket bars. If you want to try some typical drinks, there are country wines (be careful they can be very strong), Ibizan herb infusions and frigola, a spirit made with thyme. As well local Spanish cuisine there are restaurants which serve food from many other parts of the world - Italian, French, Dutch, German ,Thai, Chinese and Japanese as well as plenty of British influenced outlets.

BEACHES

The picturesque bay of Talamanca is just 15 minutes walk if you are staying in an apartment holiday rent Spanish or holiday rentals in Ibiza Town. This peaceful resort has a beautiful sandy beach with shallow waters and fantastic views of the bay and the old town of Ibiza. A promenade runs along the bay which is lined with restaurants and bars. There are shops and supermarkets in Talamanca itself and the charming village of Jesus is only a fifteen minute walk away.

The popular beach resort of Playa d'en Bossa is only ten minutes by car from Ibiza Town. Holidaymakers will adore the longest beach on the island with its fantastic water sports, lively ambience and many bars.  Families love the long, safe sandy beach with its supervised bathing and a great assortment of family entertainment.

NIGHTLIFE

If you have booked your self catering villas Ibiza or your apartment holiday rentals in Ibiza Town  for the promise of great nightlife you will find there is plenty of entertainment after dark. The evening for the majority of tourists starts in the Sa Penya district where most bars open from early evening to 2am, when most people head off to the nightclubs. ‘Pacha’ is the original Ibiza Town nightclub which opens after midnight and does not close until about 6am. Night Club entrance fees for the big, popular clubs can be very expensive (from about 30 Euros upwards) so make sure you have plenty of money with you or alternatively buy your tickets beforehand online.
