WHERE IS CORDOBA?

The city of Cordoba is located in the Andalusia region in the south of Spain alongside the River Guadalquivir. Historic Quarter
The Historic Quarter is made up of the Mezquita and the surrounding streets, alleys, courtyards and squares. Mezquita Mosque and Cathedral

This amazing structure unites the religious elements of Islam and Christianity and is the largest temple in the world with huge dimensions of 24000 km² with 856 impressive columns made up of granite, jasper and other fine stones.

Medina Azahara

The palace city of Medina Azahara was built by the Caliph Abd al-Rahman III in the 10th Century. The ruins were excavated in 1910 and you can see the foundations, the columns and many paintings.

GOLF
A lot of people who book holiday accommodation in Spain like to have a round or two of golf while they are on holiday. Cordoba is not particularly known for its golf courses but there are two which are worthy of consideration:

Pozoblanco Golf is a municipal golf course especially laid out for the golf enthusiasts who live in the area. It was opened in 1984 and is situated in the Cabeza Olive nature reserve west of the city of Pozoblanco. The course is rather wild with heavy rough and not all holes have fairways. Visitors are very welcome.

Club de Campo de Cordoba is a splendid golf course in beautiful surroundings with a plethora of natural wild life. It is situated in the nature park of Los Villares about 10 km north of the city.
